Commemoration of International Day to Combat Islamophobia – The 3rd Convention

The March 15th Forum held two commemorative events in the US in 2025, one in St. Louis, Missouri, and the other in Dallas, Texas. The commemorative convention brought together communities, activists, scholars, and religious leaders. The views and opinions expressed varied from dire to optimistic and from alarming to prophetic. Participants also congratulated the March 15th Forum on its unique and courageous initiative to follow the United Nations’ lead on combating Islamophobia.

Islamophobia on the UN Roster:
On March 15, 2022, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution and proclaimed March 15th the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. This is the highest recognition the Muslim community has received from the United Nations. This presentation examines what the UN proclamation reads and how this UN gift can be used effectively for curbing global Islamophobia.
